What We Do

We host the Warrior on The Compound and provide them with a once in a lifetime opportunity. Once they leave, we design a specific program to enable these warriors to be the best versions of themselves as they forge forward.

What the Warrior Experience Includes:

Pick up and drop off from the Airport (if needed, warriors could be local or drive in)

-An all-inclusive stay at the Compound (number of days will vary per person depending on schedule and what work needs to be done while here, typically 3-5 days)

-Private accommodations in a 2021 Airstream Globetrotter

-Tour of Compound and private training facility

Refuge BJJ offers a safe and friendly environment to learn and train in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This is an opportunity to have the warrior participate in a sport to improve fitness and learn self-defense techniques. The warrior then can investigate joining a local gym in their area and be part of a community. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Josh Guerra started training in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu when he was 11 years old. He originally began training to lose weight and build self-esteem, but after competing in his first Jiu-Jitsu tournament, he knew that he wanted to be a competitive athlete. Training under GD Jiu-Jitsu propelled Josh forward in his competition career and he competed in tournaments across the United States and won major titles against high-level competitors. In June of 2019 Coach Josh received his black belt from Gustavo Dantas and is ranked 21 in the world by the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) in the adult black belt division. Josh not only loves competing but has a passion for teaching others the art that has had such a major impact on his life. His hope is to be able to make a difference in people’s lives and influence them in a positive way through Jiu-Jitsu.

The goal is to eventually be able to invest in an inBody machine to have right on The Compound. In the meantime, we have access to an inBody assessment tool that is located at Mountainside Fitness. We can take the warrior in and receive an in-depth report.

Body composition is used by health professionals to evaluate a person’s weight by breaking it down into its core components: fat, protein, minerals and body water.  It describes your healthy weight more accurately and provides a better glimpse into your overall health than traditional methods like BMI & weight.  Body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, lean muscle mass, and body fat percentage.

We also love supporting local business, and there are only so many hours a day that you can work out and do recovery measures.  In our free time on one of the days, we set up an afternoon of fun in the desert. They rent brand new Polaris side by sides to ride trails such as Crown King, Lake Pleasant, White Tank Mountains, Rio Verde River and more. We want to give the warriors an experience they will never forget, and this is a check off the bucket list.

On one of the mornings, a 2-hour time slot is scheduled for the warrior to meet via zoom/facetime with the inventor and founder of the Pso-rite, Mac Mollohan.

The Pso-rite is the newest self-massage tool on the market. Its patented design mimics the hand and elbow of a massage therapist. This makes it way more effective for pressing deep into muscles than any other massage tool. This tool is used before you go to bed, when you wake up, before you work out, during and after. Using the Pso-rite after your workout helps with recovery. Massaging the area you just worked out helps with introducing new blood flow and releasing toxins. This 2 hour session goes over how to use and different ways to use the pso-rite.
